Shoreline Landscape

Resting on a knoll along a beautiful bayou in western Michigan, this modern California style ranch, story and a half was developed for entertaining and enjoying the water.

The design challenge for the landscape was to incorporate the existing large trees and rolling terrain seamlessly around the home and the surroundings……within the confines of a long narrow parcel.

The result is a lakeside retreat with relaxed terracing & spacious patio areas. Sitting at the upper patio one can easily capture the view of a sailboat gliding by en route to Lake Michigan. Stroll through the garden down the limestone steps to the lush lawn below, lit softly by landscape lighting. Or perhaps enjoy a dockside evening fire on the intimate blue stone patio, with wine and friends.
